Toy english terrier
- Life span: 15 - 16 years
- Adult weight: maximum 12 pounds (typical is 7-11 pounds)
- Adult height: 10-12 inches
The Toy Manchester is the same dog as the regular Manchester EXCEPT the Toy is smaller (maximum 12 pounds) and can't have cropped ears
People sometimes confuse the Toy Manchester Terrier with the Miniature Pinscher. The easiest way to tell them apart is that the the Toy Manchester is only black and tan while the Min Pin comes in red, black, and chocolate (and some mix thereof). Min Pins usually have their tails docked while the Manchester must be left natural.
NOTE. I don’t recommend using a leash and collar for walks. Attach a leash to a body harness, not a collar. The collar is only to hold dog tags, not drag the dog around.
This is a somewhat fragile dog. Tugging and pulling on the collar around your dog’s neck can contribute to a collapsed trachea and other neck damage. Use a body harness.
Here's a 30-second video that shows you just how active one of these little guys can be.
