Update on Danny Boy July 19 th. 2014

Well… our Danny Boy is off to training camp and he is in for the time of his life. His Foster Mom Tracey, and Volunteers Sheila and Nancy drove to camp Saturday morning the 19 th and took some photos (gee, what a surprise. ) and waved so long to our little buddy knowing this experience will be the icing on his dog bones and have him ready for finding his forever home soon after graduation on August 9 th. After our first check in (1 day in) all reports are that Danny is fitting in nicely, eating well and doing fine overnight! Way to go Danny!!

Our many thanks to all who helped get Danny to camp by donating either via Crowdrise.com, PayPal to ATRA Website or via checks. The amount raised was amazing! Thanks to all our supporters, friends and family. You are all awesome!

Will post updates as to Danny’s progress each week. In the meantime, enjoy the additional photos below.

This is Danny Boy a 1 year + old rescued from the Downey Shelter by our Irish through and through volunteer on March 17 th. 2014 we had to get this little one in"under the wire” as we refer to as our mixes. Danny is not a Wire Fox Terrier, but surely has some wire in there. We could tell he was so young, and so cute under all those mats, we just could not pass him up. Poor Danny Boy was sick with kennel cough and, as his early photos show, a matted mess. He had most likely been on the streets for some time, fending for himself and had issues as a result. He was very fearful of men, gobbled his food like it was his last meal, loud noises spooked him to name just a few. Even with all these issues he was a remarkably good patient having been neutered as soon as possible after being released from the shelter, and being a good boy with his rescuer in his first foster home. He has been in his 2 nd foster home now for about 2 months and has made huge strides in overcoming his issues. His foster Mom

has 3 dogs of her own, as well as fostering other dogs from time to time and Danny has been doing really well.

Danny is an energetic, fun loving dog and with continued time and effort will be a tremendous addition to a loving family. His foster Mom will be out of town for 3 weeks and without another foster home available, we thought that enrolling Danny in "camp” would be the very best thing for him so as not to lose all the hard work and accomplishments he has achieved so far. K-9 Companions in Lake Matthews, CA (near Perris) has evaluated Danny and accepted him to start his in house training towards the end of July. While this venture is a very large expenditure, we wanted to go the extra mile for Danny which will be a tremendous help towards finding him his well-deserved "POT OF GOLD” a forever home. After his 3 week training, there will be follow up and whoever is the lucky family to adopt Danny, will be afforded additional follow up from K-9 Companions in their home as well. We have created a fundraiser to help with Danny's camp costs. www.crowdrise.com/ATRADanny - please visit this site for a donation - any help possible will be greatly appreciated!

ADDITIONALLY. you can donate through PAYPAL on our website, as well as sending a donation through the US Mail to our PO Box shown on our home page. Thanks for your consideration to help!

Please consider adopting Danny Boy who will surely be the love of your life and give you years of pleasure and activity! As you can tell from the photos below Danny has started to grow into a very very handsome lad and we are quite sure he has a heart of gold…
